
This needs-based scholarship is available to spouses or children of injured Washington workers whose injury, while at work in Washington State, resulted in a permanent inability to return to work (a pension under the claim) or death. Money is available for college undergraduates, technical school students, or other accredited schools.
Scholarship Applications (for winter or spring semester) of each year for processing. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, fees, room and board and general living expenses. Scholarships are paid directly to the school where the student is enrolled full time.
Schools that qualify are any accredited university, community, technical or vocational college.
Annual award amounts are based on available resources and need. The amount may range from $500 to $6,000 per year.
The need for scholarships is based on the FAFSA or WASFA, whichever is applicable. It is required that this be completed and submitted for consideration.
Since 2001 Kids’ Chance of Washington has awarded over $718,125.00 for 176 scholarships and school-related money.
