The 1-year Welding Technology program immerses students in theory and hands-on lab instruction in welding, fitting, and related metalworking processes. Coursework covers blueprint reading and fabrication plans, oxy-fuel cutting and welding, carbon arc cutting and gouging, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux core arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and pipe welding.
The knowledge and skills you can develop over the course of the program is also designed to prepare you for a number of industry certification options offered by the American Welding Society (AWS) and Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO). Additionally, students participate in offsite externships where they can take their newly acquired hands-on skills and put them to work as they gain experience with practical application. From oil fields and aerospace environments to working on skyscrapers and farm equipment, there is an array of different industries to pursue. Sound interesting? Schedule your program tour today!
Not sure that your schedule will allow for taking a full load of course work during the daytime? We have you covered with two offerings for this program, a day and night school option. The night course offered allows students to not only maintain their current life demands, but also provides a platform for those seeking to take their welding skills to the next level.
