The 2-year Heating, Ventilation, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (HVAC/R) program at Perry Tech covers electrical/refrigeration fundamentals, direct digital controls, residential/light commercial systems, commercial/industrial refrigeration, industrial heating and cooling, motor controls, variable frequency drives, industrial boilers, oxyacetylene torches/welding. Plus, students have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on externship where they can gain valuable work experience prior to entering the workforce.
Graduates may be credited with one year or 2,000 hours toward the certification exam for the 06A HVAC/R Specialty Electrical License by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. From keeping food stored at the correct temperature to controlling the climate in a home or business, there are several avenues for graduates to pursue.
