Little Home Builder - The Caleb Sabados Memorial Scholarship (students from Colorado)

Caleb Sabados was a young man full of life, energy, and determination. A recent graduate of Frederick High School, he excelled both academically and athletically, lettering in both. He had recently embarked on his career as an apprentice electrician for a small, local company — a path he was immensely proud of and excited to pursue.

Tragically, Caleb passed away on Memorial Day 2024 while embracing his second passion, riding his motorcycle. He was only 20 years old.

Caleb’s motto was simple: “Go big or go home.” His infectious smile, contagious laughter, and unwavering drive left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. This scholarship was created in his memory, ensuring that his spirit of curiosity, dedication, and joy for learning continues in others who share his passion for hands-on work and building a future in the skilled professions.

Eligibility requirements:

2.5 GPA
Demonstrated connection to Colorado (either raised in Colorado or planning to live, study, or complete trade training in Colorado)
High school gradute or college student
Currently attending or accepted to trade school OR
Currently attending or accepted to undergraduate skilled trade program

How to Apply:
All scholarship applications must be submitted through the form here. Applicants are asked to submit a short video essay (2–3 minutes) reflecting on:

Why they are excited to pursue a skilled trade career
How they plan to shape the future of their industry
How they see themselves keeping human-centered trades strong and relevant
Video submissions should be uploaded to YouTube (as a public or unlisted link) and submitted through our online application form.
