Job Description:
Valley & Ridge is a radon mitigation company in Ellensburg. We serve homes across Kittitas County, and we're hiring a part-time installer trainee. This is a hands-on field job that uses skills from carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC training all at once.
What the work is: Radon is a natural gas that can build up under homes. It's a health risk, and a lot of homes need it fixed before they sell. We install systems that pull air from under the foundation and vent it safely outside. In practice, that means:
Drilling large holes through concrete slabs and foundation walls
Patching and sealing those holes so no air gets through
Running PVC pipe through framing, floors, and roofs
Mounting fans and making roof or wall vents weather-tight
Working in basements, crawlspaces, attics, and on roofs
Who we're looking for:
Current students or recent graduates of Construction & Carpentry, Plumbing, or HVAC/R, or anyone with similar hands-on experience
Comfortable with power tools, measuring, and making clean, accurate cuts
Some concrete, masonry, or pipe-fitting experience is a plus
Hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites in the Ellensburg area
Able to work in crawlspaces, on ladders and roofs, and lift 50+ lbs
Reliable, careful, and respectful when working in customers' homes
Graduates with more field experience are encouraged to apply. Pay goes up with experience. Good fit for someone with their own thing going on who wants to grow.
What we provide: Paid, hands-on training in radon mitigation and concrete core drilling. We supply the core drill and specialty equipment. You get field experience across concrete, carpentry, and pipe work.
Schedule: Part-time and as-needed. Work is scheduled job by job, so it can fit around classes or other work.
