JOB TITLE: Medical Receptionist
LOCATION: Yakima, WA
STATUS: Part-Time (15-20 hours weekly)
REPORTS TO: Clinic Manager
START DATE: Upon Hiring

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, greeting and checking in all patients for office appointments, including paperwork for patients to fill out, scanning insurance cards, creating and organizing hardcopy chart records, entering all demographic information into the electronic health record, checking emails and faxes in addition to forwarding them onto correct staff member, and working closely with physicians and staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greets and directs all patients within the practice
Obtaining patient demographics and verifying insurance information at each visit.
Obtaining necessary patient information and updating patient EMR and hardcopy chart records as needed.
Answering all phone calls and directing them to correct staff members.
Taking down patient questions and following up with the physician as needed.
Schedules all patient appointments, follow-up appointments, cancelations, and rescheduling as well.
Monitor and review patient schedules for next-day office appointments.
Prep all patient charts with current labs and medical records required for appointments.
Sending and receiving faxes: including but not limited to patient referrals, medical record requests, and intake forms.
Identifying and resolving minor patient billing complaints.
Keeping an inventory of all necessary office supplies
Organizing chart room
Maintaining orderly reception area
Assists other Medical Staff including physicians, nurses, office staff, and medical assistants as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of a High School Diploma; Associates Degree preferred.
At least one year of relevant experience and/or training.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Strong customer service skills
Strong organizational skills.
Strong multi-tasking skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.
Ability to prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner
Able to work collectively with administration and staff.

WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS:

This role is part-time Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10am - 3pm. There may be times you will be required to work on Wednesdays from 8am - 1pm

This is a committed role with limited time off for paid federal holidays and vacation time in the summer. The professional dress code is strictly enforced. There is an applied employee discount on appointments with Dr. Wilkinson and for select purchases made within the clinic. Opportunity for raise after first 90 days and more as time goes on. INTERVIEW PROCESS:

We will contact you to schedule an interview based on your application and qualifications.
Preliminary interview at the clinic with Clinic Manager
Opportunity for a secondary interview as job shadowing and training for 1 workday.
Official hiring and paperwork signed.
Start work at the clinic with at least 1 week of training, two weeks if needed.
Working independently by the third week of being hired.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.13 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
