We are more than a team, we're family. Our family is passionate about vision, and we are looking for a Front Desk Service Specialist that can also support our optical team.
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Front Desk Ophthalmic Support Unit Specialist. This position is ideal for a team player looking to provide excellent patient services in a friendly and efficient manner. You'll serve as part of a tightly connected team that is passionate about greeting and assisting patients in the office and on the phone while embracing learning in pursuit of achieving optical excellence. The right candidate will be reliable, punctual, and will bring a warm collaborative spirit to our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
Courteously answer and route phone calls
Schedule patients for appointments
Confirm appointments
Verify insurance coverage
Receive and process payments
Knowledge or previous experience working with most medical and/or vision plans
Experience with billing healthcare claims
Knowledge of insurance verification
Experience processing payments for patients
Experience posting insurance payments
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Russian (Desired but not required)
Multi-lingual English/Spanish/Russian (Desired but not required)
Optometric Technician knowledge and experience (Desired but not required)
Opticianry Experience (Desired but not required)
Assist Opticians to best meet the needs of our clinics by meeting duties as assigned and through dedication to both patients and other staff members
Succeed in role at assigned location and float to other clinics as needed
Collaborate on ongoing process improvement projects as needed
Ensure high standards of patient care and customer service across all sites
Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, efficiencies, and product offerings
Support day-to-day optical operations including fitting, dispensing, ordering, and troubleshooting when needed
And other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the company
REQUIRED:
We require commitment, accountability, and excellent attendance. In healthcare we are considered essential services. Meaning the specialty care we provide is essential. When a team specialist doesn't show up the rest of the team must now absorb their workload. This is why we require commitment, accountability, and excellent attendance.
PREFERRED:
Proven exceptional patient care in optical (preferred)
Passion for guiding patients in optical and making sound recommendations (preferred)
Kind, patient, and professional demeanor with excellent communication skills (required)
Ability to travel between offices as needed
