Ag Service Electrical Technician (Pivot & Pump Station)
Lad is expanding!! We are currently looking for an Electrical Service Technician to join our growing team in Pasco WA. The position will involve outside work with travel on-site to farms and agribusiness operations across Eastern WA in a company vehicle. We are looking for an internally driven individual with Irrigation systems and electrical experience or a strong desire to learn. This role is responsible for pivot, pump station and general irrigation equipment service and installation.
Responsibilities:
· Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical equipment and components.
· Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components.
· Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
· Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and/or defects.
· Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
· Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring.
· Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
· Direct and train apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical equipment.
· Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment.
· Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment
· Work from ladders to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and components
· Place conduit (pipes or tubing) per engineered drawings, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits
· Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit, climbing pivot towers, moving and lifting heavy objects
· Stay current on pivot and pump station technology and best installation practices.
Job Requirements:
· Current 03 Journeyman Electrician preferred.
· 2+ years prior electrical or ag related service experience required.
· Understanding of farming, agriculture, irrigation and related equipment is a must.
· Basic mechanical knowledge of irrigation equipment and systems.
· Maintain current driver’s license and clean driving record at all times.
· Maintain current electrical license status with Washington state.
Compensation is highly dependent on experience.
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $25-$36/hr
Safety-Sensitive Position: Due to the safety-critical nature of this role, candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test, including a screen for cannabis. This offer is contingent upon a negative result and the ability to drive a company vehicle.
