Pay: $20–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Torque Mobile provides professional automotive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services directly at our customers' homes and businesses. Our goal is to make automotive repair more convenient while providing the same level of quality and professionalism customers expect from a traditional repair facility.
We are looking for an Automotive Technician who takes pride in their work, communicates well with customers, and can represent Torque Mobile professionally while working independently in the field.
Position Overview
As a Torque Mobile Automotive Technician, you will travel to customer locations in a company service vehicle to perform automotive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
This position is a good fit for a technician who enjoys variety, working independently, and solving problems without being confined to a traditional repair shop.
Responsibilities
- Perform automotive maintenance and repairs at customer locations.
- Complete oil changes, brake repairs, batteries, starting and charging system repairs, cooling system repairs, suspension and steering repairs, and other general automotive services.
- Perform vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting based on experience and skill level.
- Complete a Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) on each vehicle.
- Identify and document additional maintenance or repair needs.
- Verify vehicle information, including VIN and license plate, before beginning work.
- Take required vehicle and repair documentation photos.
- Clearly communicate findings and repair recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and professional work area at customer locations.
- Keep the assigned service vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory clean and organized.
- Properly care for company tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Follow repair procedures, torque specifications, and industry-standard safety practices.
- Maintain accurate repair orders and documentation.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Communicate with management when additional repairs, parts, authorization, or technical assistance are needed.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive repair experience or automotive technical education preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic automotive systems and repair procedures.
- Ability to safely perform common maintenance and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to diagnose automotive problems appropriate to experience level.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a company service vehicle.
- Must be dependable and able to arrive at scheduled jobs on time.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to safely lift and handle automotive parts, tools, wheels, and equipment commonly associated with automotive repair.

Mobile automotive repair is different from working in a traditional shop. Technicians work at homes, businesses, parking lots, and fleet locations throughout the Tri-Cities area.
Because you are often the primary face of Torque Mobile while on a job, cleanliness, communication, appearance, and customer service are important parts of the position.
We don't expect every technician to know how to diagnose or repair everything. We do expect technicians to recognize the limits of their experience, communicate when they need assistance, and approach every vehicle with a professional problem-solving mindset.
