Responsibilities
You will collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, front office staff and clinic management to ensure comprehensive health care outcomes
Perform medical administrative support tasks
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Take patient histories and vital signs
Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
You will perform a variety of functions within the clinic setting requiring specialized knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data
Skills
Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures
Solid understanding of human anatomy and physiology
Excellent patient service skills, including effective communication and empathy
Competent in medication administration techniques
Skilled in providing direct patient care, including assisting with procedures and treatments
Ability to accurately measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate
Knowledge of basic life support procedures
Requirements
Medical assistant certification from an accredited training program
Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
Minimum one (1) year experience in physician's office or other medical facility preferred
Exceptions may be made for applicants applying to applicants currently in an externship or residency program with an active or pending WA DOH MA-R certification within 7 days of hire Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) license within 45 days of hire.
