Freedom Equipment Rentals is looking for another great person to join our growing team. We are looking for an entry-level Yard Associate with a focus on new equipment preparation, assembly, and inspection. This position will primarily support our equipment sales program, preparing new equipment for delivery and ensuring it is properly assembled, inspected, and ready for the customer.
No previous equipment rental experience is required. We are willing to train the right person. Mechanical aptitude, experience with tools, or familiarity with equipment is a plus, but not required.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands and wants to learn about equipment. As you gain experience, this position can be a stepping stone to other opportunities within Freedom Equipment Rentals.
New Equipment Preparation & Assembly
Assemble attachments and accessories for new equipment, including pallet jack and UTV attachments
Inspect new equipment prior to delivery
Follow assembly instructions and manufacturer guidelines
Verify equipment is properly assembled, functioning correctly, and ready for the customer
Perform basic adjustments and minor maintenance as needed
Assist with staging and preparing equipment for delivery
Keep the equipment preparation area clean and organized
Yard & Rental Operations
When new equipment preparation is caught up, you'll also assist with our regular yard operations, including:
Pressure washing and cleaning returned rental equipment
Fueling and preparing equipment for rental
Loading and unloading customer equipment safely
Staging equipment for upcoming rentals
Performing basic routine maintenance such as oil changes, filters, greasing, and other basic service tasks
Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional yard
Assisting mechanics, drivers, and other team members as needed
Helping customers in a friendly and professional manner
Supporting the team with other daily tasks as needed
What We're Looking For
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Willingness to learn and take direction
Enjoys working with their hands and learning how things work
Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus
Experience using hand tools is a plus
Construction, automotive, landscaping, farming, warehouse, or equipment experience is helpful but not required
Ability to work independently and stay productive when assigned tasks are completed
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Valid driver's license required
Must be able to pass pre-employment and routine drug testing
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on position. You will spend much of your day on your feet and may be required to walk, stand, bend, stoop, climb, lift, and work around equipment.
The position requires lifting up to 90 lbs. and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. You should be comfortable getting dirty and working around equipment, water, grease, and other typical conditions found in an equipment rental yard.
Schedule
Full-time
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Occasional weekends as needed
