Selah Medical Center has an opening for an experienced medical assistant. This is a temporary position expected to last 4 to 5 months. Hours are 9:00-5:30 Monday-Thursday. Professionalism and a friendly demeanor are essential in this role. The medical assistant is responsible for establishing and maintaining a collaborative relationship with patients and must be approachable. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examination by taking accurate patient histories, obtaining vital signs, and reconciling medication lists. Other duties may include scribing for the physician, completing prior authorizations for prescriptions and radiology exams, returning patient phone calls, completing medication refills, and administering vaccines and injections. The ideal candidate should be helpful, project a caring demeanor, and prioritize helping providers and coworkers to best meet patient needs. Energetic team players with a positive outlook who listen actively, communicate clearly, and take direction with ease will excel in this position. Knowledge of ICD-10 codes preferred.
