Primary Responsibilities

The Information Services Technician III – Data Systems, Student Information System (SIS), Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Analyst supports the Director of Technology by ensuring the effective operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of district information and technology systems. This position serves as the district’s technical analyst for the Student, Family, and Business information system and is responsible for maintaining data integrity, system security, reporting accuracy, and effective use of the system across the student, human resources, and financial modules.

The position combines advanced technical support with data systems administration and analysis. The Technician III works collaboratively with district departments to improve data quality, streamline workflows, and support accurate reporting and informed decision-making. This role provides professional-level technical assistance and training to ensure consistent and effective use of district systems.

Data Systems (Primary Responsibilities)
• Serve as a district technical analyst for the purposes of supporting data integrity, security, and effective system use.
• Manage, monitor, and validate data within student, finance, and human resources modules.
• Create, execute, and maintain mass routines for data input, correction, and maintenance.
• Conduct routine audits of data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with district and state requirements.
• Maintain security roles and permissions in accordance with role-based access standards.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data extracts to support district operations and leadership decision-making.
• Prepare and support district data submissions for state and regulatory reporting, including CEDARS.
• Monitor data integrations between information systems and other district systems and resolve data inconsistencies.
• Support testing, upgrades, and implementation of modules and system enhancements.
• Create and maintain documentation for data workflows, system procedures, and reporting processes.

Technical Operations & Support (Ancillary Responsibilities)
• Provide advanced technical support for district applications and systems, including break-fix and escalation support.
• Assist with Help Desk operations, including troubleshooting issues and documenting incidents in the ticketing system.
• Participate in routine system, security, and log monitoring in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform assigned cybersecurity-related tasks, including endpoint protection, monitoring, and remediation activities.
• Administer identity and access management tasks, including creating, modifying, and disabling user accounts.
• Support enterprise productivity platforms, including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
• Perform endpoint management tasks, including patch compliance, asset tracking, and device deployment.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, operating systems, applications, and peripheral equipment.
• Apply operating system updates and administrative tools in accordance with district standards.
• Assist with basic network and connectivity troubleshooting under direction.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, service manuals, and system records.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party technical support to diagnose and resolve system issues.
• Perform related duties as assigned in support of district technology operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)

Knowledge
• Knowledge of enterprise information systems supporting student, financial, and human resource operations.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality standards, and secure data handling practices in a public-sector educational environment.
• Knowledge of enterprise productivity platforms, including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of operating systems, hardware, networking, and directory services supporting district technology infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including endpoint protection, monitoring, and risk mitigation concepts.
• Knowledge of data reporting requirements and regulatory submissions relevant to K–12 education.
• Knowledge of methods for evaluating, piloting, and assessing emerging technology solutions. Skills
• Skill in configuring, supporting, and maintaining enterprise information systems in accordance with established procedures.
• Skill in data analysis, auditing, and reporting to support operational efficiency and compliance.
• Skill in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and system integration issues within assigned systems.
• Skill in administering identity and access controls using directory services.
• Skills in endpoint management, including patch compliance, asset management, deployment, and antivirus administration.
• Skill in maintaining accurate technical documentation and procedural records.
• Skill in developing and delivering technical training and instructional materials for non-technical users.
• Skill in coordinating with vendors and third-party technical support during issue diagnosis and resolution.
• Skill in basic network and server support, including LAN/WAN and client/server connectivity.

• Ability to communicate complex technical and data-related information clearly to non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Associate degree in Information Systems, IT, Data Analytics, or a related field required; OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Certified Python Professional Programmer (PCPP 1/2) credentials preferred.
• Three years of related experience is preferred.
• Experience with enterprise-scale Skyward Student Information System or comparable platforms preferred.
