Overview:
TEKsystems' Data Center Services practice helps organizations design, build, deploy, migrate, operate, and modernize network and data center infrastructure environments.
As a DC Deployment Team Lead, you will provide onsite leadership for deployment teams executing complex data center and network infrastructure projects. This role combines technical expertise, team leadership, project coordination, and customer engagement. You will be responsible for directing daily activities, assigning work, tracking project status, removing obstacles, and ensuring all deployments are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality and compliance standards.
This position requires a unique combination of leadership, operational discipline, technical deployment experience, and the ability to drive successful outcomes in fast-paced environments.

• Team Leadership & Field Supervision – Proven experience leading deployment technicians and installation crews, assigning work, providing direction, coaching team members, and ensuring project objectives are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Project Status Tracking & Execution Management – Experience managing day-to-day project activities, monitoring schedules, tracking milestones, documenting progress, escalating risks, and communicating project status to stakeholders.
• Structured Cabling Installation – Advanced experience with installation, routing, termination, labeling, and testing of copper and fiber cabling systems in accordance with ANSI/TIA standards.
• Network Infrastructure Deployment – Strong understanding of rack integration, device installation, cable management, structured cabling systems, and network infrastructure deployments.
• Standards Compliance & Quality Assurance – Demonstrated ability to validate installation quality, enforce deployment standards, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with project specifications and ANSI/TIA requirements.
• Installation, Staging & Site Coordination – Experience overseeing equipment staging, asset management, labeling, material readiness, and site preparation activities to support successful project delivery.
• Stakeholder Communication – Ability to communicate effectively with customers, site leadership, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams while maintaining strong working relationships.
• Process Documentation & Reporting – Experience maintaining deployment documentation, tracking deliverables, documenting issues and resolutions, and validating deployment completion through established processes and reporting mechanisms.
• Data Center & Telecommunications Experience – Strong background supporting data center environments, MDF/IDF spaces, telecommunications infrastructure, and large-scale deployment initiatives.
• Safety & Risk Management – Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, enforcing safety requirements, identifying risks, and ensuring adherence to company and customer policies.
Basic qualifications:
• 8+ years of industry experience in data center deployments, structured cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage systems, infrastructure installations, hardware deployment, or related technical environments.
• 3+ years of experience leading field teams, installation crews, or deployment technicians.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.
• Proven experience managing onsite teams and coordinating activities across multiple workstreams.
• Experience tracking project status, schedules, deliverables, risks, and escalations.
• Ability to manage relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize competing priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team-development capabilities.
• Experience driving successful project outcomes in fast-paced environments with aggressive timelines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while leading large cross-functional teams.
• Experience documenting deployment activities, validating implementation success, and maintaining project records.
• Proven ability to identify issues, remove barriers, and drive projects to successful completion.
• Familiarity with high-growth, large-scale deployment environments and complex infrastructure implementations.
