Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• A valid Washington State Driver's License.
• Possess the ability to communicate and maintain strong working relationships with staff and the general public.
• Proven ability to work independently required.
• Physical ability to perform required duties.
• Record of dependability, flexibility, and strong attendance.
• Desire to be a role model for students and to interact positively with students.
• Maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Completion of a two-year certified course in electronics, computer maintenance, telecommunications, or two years of fieldwork experience.
Primary Function: This position ensures the smooth operation of the district’s technology device (laptops, tablets, hotspots, cameras, etc.) assignments in the buildings for students, teachers, and staff. The position coordinates building-level device checkout processes, from processing new devices to coordinating delivery to the end-user and compiling and maintaining records of quantity and type of device inventory transactions. The position reports and supports their assigned campuses.
Essential to meeting the expected outcomes will be strong skills centering in; collaboration, organization, communication, computer/technology literacy, public relations, conflict de-escalation, as well as an enthusiasm for providing customer support.
Checkout and Support Technician:
• Process building requests for devices.
• Managing equipment checkout systems, including loaner equipment, cameras, audio systems, and other peripherals.
• Entering asset information into the district’s inventory system.
• Researching checkout history and providing the information to Technology Services and/or the schools.
• Student data information systems reports in support of device checkout needs.
• Fine entry and fine reporting.
• Contacting parents, guardians, and students to convey information pertaining to device assignment, policies and procedures, fines and fees, and general information pertaining to device checkout.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, parents, and students.
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
• Provide basic diagnosis of a device issue to determine break, fix or replace status.
• Provide logistical support for new computer deployment.
• Perform school-specific technical work for basic support issues.
• Coordinate computer hardware repair records for the school.
• Assist with Help Desk calls

• Employment is contingent upon passing the Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check.
• Must maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
• Complete SafeSchool’s online training in accordance with the Yakima School District.
• Obtain a CPR and First Aid Card if needed.
• Attend job-specific trainings as required.
