Basalt Family Wellness is a growing, privately owned family medicine practice in Ellensburg, Washington. We provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages, including family medicine, pediatrics, women's health, preventive care, and prenatal care. We are looking for a dependable, compassionate Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in providing exceptional patient care.
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant is an essential member of our clinical team, responsible for ensuring efficient patient flow, delivering outstanding patient care, and supporting our providers throughout the day. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, professional, and enjoys building lasting relationships with patients.
Responsibilities
Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs and medical histories.
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
Administer injections, immunizations, and medications within scope of practice.
Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and exam rooms.
Document accurately in the electronic medical record.
Process prescription refill requests and provider messages.
Coordinate referrals, imaging, and laboratory orders.
Provide patient education and follow-up instructions.
Maintain inventory and stock exam rooms.
Answer clinical phone calls and patient portal messages.
Assist with prior authorizations and other clinical administrative tasks.
Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic safety standards.
Work collaboratively with providers and fellow staff to deliver excellent patient care.
Qualifications
Required
Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) or Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R).
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Professional, dependable, and punctual.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic.
Preferred
Family medicine or primary care experience.
Experience with electronic medical records.
Knowledge of vaccines and medication administration.

Schedule
Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm
No major holidays
