1A: Sundays – Tuesdays (Rotating Wednesdays) / 6:00AM – 6:30PM
1B: Thursdays – Saturdays (Rotating Wednesdays) / 6:00AM – 6:30PM

JOB SUMMARY
The I&E Technician – Regulatory Systems is responsible for maintaining, calibrating, verifying, troubleshooting compliance-critical inspection, coding, and monitoring systems in a regulated food manufacturing environment.
This role ensures that all regulatory systems operate within validated parameters to meet food safety, accuracy, traceability, and audit requirements. The technician serves as a key technical owner that directly impacts product integrity and regulatory compliance.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
VISION & CODE VERIFICATION SYSTEM
Maintain and troubleshoot vision inspection systems used to:
• Verify correct label application
• Validate UV 2D code readability and accuracy
• Perform routine verification checks to ensure:
• Code contrast, placement, and readability meet specification
• Label-to-product validation is functioning correctly
• Support changeovers and product recipe validation
• Document verification results for audit traceability
• Support QA during internal and external audits

INDUSTRIAL PRINTING SYSTEMS
Maintain and troubleshoot industrial printers used for:
• UV 2D code printing
• Date coding
• Lot traceability
• Product information labeling
• Perform print quality verification checks
• Calibrate print timing, placement, and communication with line controls
• Manage preventative maintenance schedules
• Validate printer performance after maintenance or repairs
• Experience with Videojet and/or Markem-Imaje printers is highly valued

METAL DETECTION & X-RAY INSPECTION SYSTEMS
• Perform scheduled calibrations and verification testing
• Validate sensitivity using certified test standards

• Troubleshoot detection faults and reject system issues
• Ensure reject mechanisms function reliably
• Maintain complete calibration and verification documentation
• Support regulatory inspections and audit readiness Experience with Loma X-ray systems is preferred.

CHECKWEIGHERS & SCALES
• Perform scale calibration and verification per regulatory schedule
• Ensure compliance with weights and measures standards
• Troubleshoot load cells, signal conditioning, and drift
• Maintain audit-ready documentation
• Support validation after mechanical or electrical repairs

TEMPERATURE MONITORING & CHART RECORDERS
• Maintain electronic or chart-based temperature monitoring systems
• Calibrate and verify chart recorders and data logging systems
• Validate alarm and notification functionality
• Ensure proper data retention and regulatory compliance

RTD SYSTEMS
• Perform RTD calibration and verification
• Validate temperature accuracy using certified reference standards
• Troubleshoot sensor drift, wiring issues, and signal inconsistencies
• Support validation of critical control points (CCPs)

CHEMICAL CONDUCTIVITY MONITORING
• Calibrate and verify conductivity probes used for:
• CIP validation
• Chemical additive verification
• Troubleshoot probe fouling, scaling, and signal drift
• Maintain regulatory documentation and calibration records

DOCUMENTATION & COMPLIANCE
• Maintain calibration and verification records within CMMS or regulatory systems
• Ensure systems remain within validated control limits
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits
• Participate in root cause investigations involving compliance systems
• Assist in developing or updating SOPs related to inspection and validation systems


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• 2-5 Years of Instrumentation and Electrical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
• Instrumentations degree or Industrial Maintenance certifications, preferred
• Experience maintaining or troubleshooting industrial electrical, instrumentation, or inspection systems
• Working knowledge of calibration principles and verification procedures
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Familiarity with industrial control systems (24VDC, 120VAC)
• Strong troubleshooting skills in regulated production environments
• Experience in food manufacturing or similar regulated industries is highly preferred
• Experience with Videojet printers, Markem-Imaje printers, Loma X-ray systems, vision systems, checkweighers, or
conductivity instrumentation is a plus

Pay Range for Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician
The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician base pay range $33.00 - $38.00/hourly. The listed salary range represents Kettle Cuisine’s good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries for the Everett, WA location only. Ranges will be reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package. Kettle Cuisine and all its legal entities comply with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
