We are looking for an independent, self-directed, and highly motivated technician to manage infrastructure reliability for our premium tech and telecom clients.

Position Impact
As a Critical Infrastructure HVAC and Generator Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing critical cooling and standby power infrastructure at data centers and telecom shelter sites. This role ensures maximum system efficiency, minimizes operational downtime, and handles emergency call-outs in demanding environments where failure is not an option.

Core Responsibilities
HVAC & Cooling Systems
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment on critical sites.
• Diagnose complex refrigeration, electrical and airflow issues.
• Install or replace components of entire mechanical cooling systems.
• Conduct regular preventative performance checks.
• Execute upgrades on out-of-season cooling equipment with Installation Lead

Generator & Standby Power Systems
• Service and repair commercial standby power generators.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical component issues.
• Install fuel lines, water supply lines, and water pumps.
• Wire and install electronic system control components.
• Read and follow blueprints or complex design specifications.
• Load Bank (depending on market)

Site Operations & Safety
• Respond promptly to power, generator, and HVAC alarms.
• Participate in a rotating 24/7 emergency call-out schedule.
• Complete accurate daily work and compliance reports.
• Operate a heavy-duty company service vehicle safely.
• Adhere to strict OSHA, EPA, and FCC safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience
• Certification: Level 2 or Universal EPA Certification is strictly required.
• Experience: 3+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years of generator and electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• OEM Plus: Direct experience troubleshooting and maintaining Vertiv critical cooling / thermal management systems is highly preferred.
• OEM Plus: Direct experience with industrial generators—specifically Generac, Polar, or Caterpillar (CAT) standby power systems—is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Robust knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and refrigeration components.
• Documentation: Basic computer proficiency for reporting and email communication.
• Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for at least one year.
• Compliance: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
• Ability to work outdoors and tolerate ambient weather temperatures.
• Physical capacity to lift and move heavy equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and climb for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel extensively on a daily regional basis.
• Availability for occasional overnight stays and emergency weekend calls.
