Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Broadband Technician specializing in Fiber and Fixed Wireless Internet Service Provider (ISP) installations and maintenance. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining high-speed fiber optic networks and fixed wireless systems to ensure reliable connectivity for our customers. Your expertise will help deliver fast, dependable internet services by performing network installations, splicing, and repairs with precision and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge telecommunication infrastructure while providing exceptional service to our clients.
Duties
Install, configure, and troubleshoot residential and business Fixed Wireless and fiber optic systems, cables, splicing, and related network components to ensure optimal performance.
Set up and maintain fixed wireless equipment, including antennas, radios, and access points for reliable wireless connectivity.
Perform network installation tasks involving Eero and Mikrotik routers, Ethernet cabling, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring.
Use hand tools such as cable cutters, crimpers, and fiber fusion splicers to complete installations accurately.
Document all work performed through detailed reports and logs to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
Skills
Experience with fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic cable handling is a plus.
Knowledge of network installation processes involving routers, Ethernet cabling, and telecommunication equipment is a plus.
Familiarity with computer networking principles including IP addressing, routing protocols, and networking basics is a plus.
Ability to utilize a web-based Customer Service Management service to log work performed and maintain accurate records
Ability to operate hand tools, ladders, and power tools safely and efficiently in various field environments.
Mechanical aptitude combined with electrical experience to troubleshoot hardware issues effectively.
Ability to learn and adapt to new information provided during on-the-job training
