Job Description:
Keithly Electric is seeking an Automation and Controls Technician to work as an integral member of our team. We are a diverse team of collaborators, problem-solvers, engineers, electricians and technicians who are committed to a culture of safety first.

Responsibilities include:

Evaluate, install, and troubleshoot manufacturing control systems consisting of PLCs, VFD’s, computer controls, HMI interfaces, as well as controls and process instrumentation.
Troubleshoot or modify existing PLC programs and make system hardware recommendations to resolve operation problems, improve processes, to support customer initiatives and continuous improvement.
Design control systems and prepare drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and scopes of work.
Document and maintain revisions to existing automated systems and maintain appropriate PLC, and computer software/hardware information.
Design and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve reliability of existing manufacturing control systems and equipment.
Support and assist in start-up, troubleshooting, testing, modifying, and installing electrical equipment and control systems.
Advanced understanding of networks and ability to troubleshoot common outages and system communication issues.
Repairs and replaces control devices such as switches, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, motor starts, thermocouples, etc. as needed.
Reads electrical drawings for conveyors, machines, and building.
Repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots electrical breakdowns associated with processing machinery to ensure continuous production operations.
Performs efficient troubleshooting and repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
Maintains and repairs electrical breakdowns in operation, which includes packaging equipment, motors, conveyors, ovens, VFD’s, PLC’s, wrappers, palletizers, robotics, blending operations, etc.
Repairs and replaces defective components in motors, generators, controllers, switchboards, conductors, switches and varied electrical fixtures.
Maintains calibrating of instrumentation and supporting records.
Maintains a safe and secure work environment, including correcting unsafe acts/conditions, performing safety inspections as required.
Must be willing to have hands-on involvement with industrial equipment.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience (5 years minimum):

Instrumentation, Motor Control and Troubleshooting
PLC & HMI programming/development
Knowledge of Logic design and PLC I/O development
Allen Bradley Factory Talk & Studio 5000 (Rockwell Toolkit)
Process, Batch, PID and motion control
Ladder and Function Block Logic programming
Troubleshooting- PLC, Relay, Controls
Field Device Wiring
Drafting of panel and control drawings (ACAD)
Networking – Ethernet, Modbus, ProfiNet, RS-232/485
Ability to learn, design & deploy network based PLC/HMI applications
Strong customer management skills
Strong communications skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
