Summary:
This job posting is for the full-time position of Sheet Metal Fabricator with ASAP Metal Fabricators, a sheet-metal manufacturing job shop in Yakima, WA.

The Sheet Metal Fabricator will work on a diverse range of parts and projects within our job-shop manufacturing environment. This position will specialize in preparing parts for welding by saw cutting, bending, drilling, tapping, and grinding. May be asked to float and assist other areas and machine operations, training and assistance will be provided as needed.

Typical Responsibilities
Run and maintain horizontal saw to cut metal tubes and bars to length
Use hydraulic tube bender to form tubes and extrusions to meet print
Perform metal fabrication tasks, including Drill, Tap, Countersink, PEM Insertion.
Grind and finish metal parts, achieving excellent visual results
Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
Measure and mark workpieces using appropriate tools.
Ensure all products meet quality standards.
Operate forklifts and cranes to move materials.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
Follow company rules, policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
Work collaboratively with the team to maximize productivity.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.
Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement projects.
Use problem-solving skills to resolve daily manufacturing issues.
Know when to escalate an issue and seek assistance.
Document and report all material, drawing, equipment, and quality issues.
Assist with preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
Safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials and completed parts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Strong problem-solving skills
Good understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes
Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawings
Ability to operate a forklift

Preferred Experience
2+ Years of metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment
The business operates on a standard 40-hour workweek. Overtime may occasionally be required. Standard hours of operation are:
Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 3:30 pm
Friday, 6:00 am - 10:00 am
