The Facilities Section is responsible for capital planning, projects, and maintenance for all WSP buildings representing approximately 1 million square feet, including leases; purchases; maintenance and janitorial; renovations and repairs. In addition, Facilities supports over 2,200 employees and over 200 facilities statewide. This section provides maintenance for all communication towers including electrical and generator work. The Facilities Section is also responsible for the maintenance of 63 weigh stations across the state in coordination with Commercial Vehicles Division, and also maintains the WSP’s security and lock system.
Duties
Assigned as expert level personnel responsible for day to day operations, training, supervision, repairs, maintenance, and management of the facilities and equipment, emergency generators, diesel and propane fuel systems, and electrical transfer switching equipment.
Responsible for leadership and direction of the Maintenance Mechanics, as well as maintaining positive and negative documentation files of work performance on personnel in their area of responsibility. Compose annual and probationary evaluations, and responsible for scheduling and assigning staff to specific work assignments.

As needed, assist in the pre-design process for all assigned projects
Yearly review of the condition of all scale sites
Tracks coding of construction funds so the correct Section/Division is billed for their project
Ensure that all work is performed safely and in accordance to all local codes
Verifies quality standards of the WSP are met
Facilitates meetings concerning scale projects, including site visits to verify completion
Maintains clean and safe work areas in the shop
Confirms Handbook 44 Codes and Regulations are meet
Tracks, records and posts certification documents to the internet as required by (NIST) Oversees Certification of Agency drug scales statewide
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Two years as a construction foremen OR AA degree on business, construction, or related field.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.
