Job Description:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely employee compensation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, confidentiality, and consistency, and who can work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing
• Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis for all employees
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, commissions, and deductions
• Maintain payroll records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
• Manage employee payroll changes including new hires, terminations, and pay rate adjustments
• Coordinate direct deposits and ensure timely payroll distribution
• Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
Recordkeeping & Reporting
• Generate payroll reports for management and accounting
• Maintain organized and secure payroll records
• Assist with month-end and year-end payroll reporting (including W-2 preparation support)
• Ensure payroll data is accurate for accounting reconciliation
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of payroll processing experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks Payroll, ADP, Paychex, or similar)
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, wage calculations, and compliance basics
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Schedule & Compensation:
• Part-time. 6-8 hours every other week.
• $25.00 – $30.00 per hour, depending on experience and software proficiency
