We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Machinist at our Western Pneumatic Tube Co location in Kirkland, WA. At L&P Aerospace, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interactions. So, what will you be doing as a Machinist?
As a Machinist, you will operate machine tools to fabricate and manufacture machine parts.
Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
Lays out work and is cable of setting up and operating efficiently basic machine tools to very close tolerances and limits.
Selects and sharpens tools as customary, selects feeds and speeds the operation sequence for a considerable range of operations, using adjustable gauges and measuring devices to check tolerances.
Uses skillfully all Machinists’ hand tools. May perform maintenance, assembly, bench work installations, inspection, layout, and heat-treating.
Inspects machinery for any needed repairs.
Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Must have inititiave and the ability to work autonomously.
Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
Excellent mechanical skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to stand and bend for prolonged periods of time
Ability to communicate accurately and clearly (both written and verbally)
Possess ability to lift 50 pounds at a time.
Things we consider a plus
Machinist vocational/technical school training and apprenticeship certification
