Plumbing Program Continues Strong at Perry Tech

April 09, 2019

Perry Technical Institute’s newest program for plumbing is thriving, with students learning inside and outside of the classroom. The Plumbing Technician program launched in September of 2018, with a scheduled graduation date of September 2019.

Plumbing students recently had the opportunity to become certified in Aquatherm, an advanced plumbing system and material. During a development training in the convenience of Perry Tech's plumbing lab, students learned from Marty Newlander of Ridgeline Mechanical Sales. He taught the class the ins and outs of Aquatherm pipes and fittings, which offer benefits over metals and other plastics, such as reliability, longevity, and chemical purity. In the hands-on lab, students learned many things including the proper installation, potable water system, and reclaimed water system.

See the training in action below, as well as other work the Plumbing students have had the opportunity to do on and off campus.
