Meet Perry Tech's Faculty Member of the Year

July 10, 2018

Yakima, WA – July 10, 2018 – He's an electrical technology instructor, veteran advisor, husband, father, and now Perry Tech's Faculty Member of the Year. Adam Rieker has shown tremendous commitment to his country, his profession, and his students at Perry Tech. His teaching style and ability to connect with his students has helped them to push through difficulties, not giving up on their education or on themselves.

Why Adam’s students say they nominated him for Perry Tech's Faculty Member of the Year:

“His patience with his students, his phenomenal work ethic, & his energy for teaching his material, some of the toughest in the electrical course.”

“He switched up the material to help me understand better.”

“Such a great role model in my life.”

“Because he's my hero.”

From Perry Tech Dean of Education Nathan Hull:

“Adam consistently puts the best interest of the student at the forefront and he effectively communicates with colleagues and supervisors. In 2017, Adam really challenged himself by teaching lessons outside of his regular assignment and he volunteered his time to conduct tourniquet training for students and employees. His willingness to be a selfless contributor at PTI made him an easy choice for faculty member of the year.”

 From Adam:

“I am deeply honored to receive this award. Our students are constantly confronted with demanding circumstances and I didn't realize how many of them looked for guidance from me, not only academically but from a professional standpoint as well.”
