Yakima, WA – Date 5/24/2023 – Perry Technical Institute (Perry Tech) has partnered with Lower Columbia College (LCC) to create a transfer pathway for students towards a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Organizational Leadership & Technical Management (BAS-OLTM).  Graduates from Electrical Technology, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVAC/R), Instrumentation, Automation & Robotics Technology, Information Technology & Communication Systems, and Business Technology & Accounting that meet the requirements are eligible to transfer credits upon completion of their program.

The BAS-OLTM is a career-focused, applied science degree to prepare graduates for positions in leadership, management, and supervisory roles in private, public, and nonprofit organizations. The program is designed for working adults with a range of professional technical associate degrees and a diverse set of work experiences and professional goals. LCC's program will help students gain the skills and knowledge needed to effectively lead and manage others through the study of behavioral and leadership theory, professional communications, project management, workplace and environmental safety, conflict resolution, theories of decision making, change management, ethics, and diversity.

The BAS-OLTM is a fully online program that offers both full-time and part-time tracks for students.  Candidates wishing to pursue a part-time track begin in the summer and take 10 credits per quarter with applications due by June 1, 2023.  Those wishing to pursue a full-time track start in the fall and take 15 credits per quarter.

“This has been something we really wanted to create for our students for some time now, and to be able to partner with Lower Columbia College to offer this historic first-of-its-kind opportunity at Perry is beyond exciting,” stated Christine Coté, President of Perry Technical Institute.  Coté continued, “This partnership will truly offer our students the ability to build on the trade skills they are learning here and help set them up for even better careers in industry.”
