Yakima, WA – March 28, 2019 – Perry Tech's Automotive program is helping a local homeless camp in more ways than one. When the bus at Camp Hope stopped running recently, they didn’t know if they could afford the costs desperately needed to fix it. Perry Tech’s Auto program stepped in to repair the bus and get it back up and running again. Perry Tech Auto student Matthew Ketchum felt inspired to lead a food drive to fill the bus with non-perishables for the homeless before it was returned to Camp Hope. Telling us about his own struggles in life, Matthew has motivated us all with his amazing story and willingness to help.
Thank you to everyone who helped us repair the bus for Camp HOPE and fill it with food, including the generous donations from Frank's Tire Factory and O’Reilly Auto Parts!
