Applicants to the Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Program must meet all the following eligibility requirements. Applicants must:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a high school senior OR high school graduate (or GED equivalent).
- Have not earned a bachelor’s degree prior to the 2023-2024 academic year.
- Be currently enrolled or planning to enroll full-time or part-time (minimum 6 credit hours) at one of the following types of accredited institutions: vocational-technical school, trade school, two-year community college, or state college.
- Be pursuing an associate’s degree, credit-bearing certificate, or an industry-recognized credential, in one of the fields of study below, with an anticipated completion date no earlier than December 2023 and no later than June 2026.
- Note: If student’s Specific Major falls under one of the listed Fields of Study, but the student’s Specific Major is not listed, student is still eligible to apply.
Vocational Scholarship Selection of Recipients
- Scholarship recipients are selected based on consideration of academic performance, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances and an outside appraisal.
- Preference will be given to applicants enrolled or planning to enroll at one of Lockheed Martin’s priority institutions. It is not mandatory to attend one of the priority institutions to be eligible for the scholarship.
- Additional consideration will be given to applicants who self-identify as members of the following groups: Women; Racial and ethnic minorities; Individuals with a disability (as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act); Individuals that identify as LGBTQ; Individuals that are or will be first-generation college students; Active Duty U.S. military, including Reserves and National Guard; U.S. military Veteran, including Reserves and National Guard; Spouse of U.S. military Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, or Veteran
- Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Lockheed Martin play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
