Yakima, WA – July 10, 2018 – Aaron Maki remembers his time at Perry Tech like it was just yesterday. “If I had to do it all over again I would in a heartbeat. All of the instructors were very knowledgeable and you can tell that they really enjoyed what they did.”
A 2011 graduate of the Instrumentation program, Maki described a memorable moment with one of his instructors, Larry Dagdagan. “He asked me to grab an RTD off the shelf. At the time I had no idea what an RTD looked like so I kind of hovered my hand over the various pieces of equipment until I saw a change in his facial expression and I knew then I had hit the mark.”
Aaron now works as a Lead Calibration Technician at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in Albany, New York with several other Perry Tech grads. He traveled across the country with a few of them for Perry Tech's Employer Expo to recruit students to work at Regeneron. “It is my favorite day of the year,” says Anna Jackson, a Career Services Specialist at Perry Tech. “Seeing our students network and explore opportunities with companies is like watching them cross a bridge to their future.”
Plenty of those students took the chance to connect with the Regeneron group, said Maki. “I have been very impressed. We get a lot of great questions. You can tell that they have done their homework.”
Maki describes the decision to come to Perry Tech as one of the best investments anyone could ever make. As for the graduates, he explains how being a team player is imperative to success, “Your experience while at Perry is very similar to being on the job. Be the person that you would want to work with and you will be successful.”
