Perry Tech Partners with Industry to Provide Students with Discounts

One of the most exciting times in a trade student’s journey is when they get to take the theoretical learnings and apply them in a real-world setting.  In order to transition, students must equip themselves before going to work in the field – often seen as a barrier to entry because of the cost of equipment and tools.  As a result, Perry Tech partners with leading industry suppliers to provide opportunities for students to purchase their required tools at a discounted rate. Ranging from channel locks to miter saws and stethoscopes to medical scrubs and just about everything in between, including safety protection, Perry works to provide all students with access to top-quality tools at affordable rates.

Once a quarter, programs at Perry Tech are able to reach out to their trade related vendors ranging from Cornwell Quality Tools and Snap On, to Helms True Value Hardware and Platt Electric and invite them to come on campus to display their goods for all interested students.  Vendors detail pricing, answer questions, and provide discounts beyond retail rates.  “This is an excellent opportunity for students to save anywhere from 10 to 60 percent off on tools that they will need to perform in their trade,” stated Mike Tucker, Electrical Technology Program Instructor.
