At Perry Tech, the Financial Aid office has an open-door policy—students are welcome to drop in any time to get help with the financial aid process. Yet the department saw that they could be doing more to help, particularly during off-hours, and decided to take their services a step further to meet the needs of students. They began hosting special evening sessions where any student could drop in for help with a variety of topics relating to paying for school, something that tends to overwhelm many people.
Perry Tech is dedicated to offering a customized experience for each person. Any student—current, potential, even from another school altogether—is welcome to attend and obtain the help they need. These evenings originally began as FAFSA/WAFSA nights a few years ago, but have since been tailored to accommodate the growing list of topics students need to cover in the financial aid process. These topics include:
Once a year in the fall, when the new financial aid application is released, a financial aid night will include a collaboration with Heritage University. Perry Tech’s financial aid team will have a presence at their financial aid night to help students, and Heritage’s team will also attend ours. The purpose of this is to eliminate any barriers that may be keeping someone from seeking the help they need. Having a presence in the Lower Valley at Heritage makes it possible to reach more students that may otherwise been unable to make it to Perry Tech.
If you need help securing financial aid, Perry Tech is here to help. To join us for our next Financial Aid night, get started by clicking here to find out what to bring to the event.
