Externships at Perry Highlighted for Benefiting Students

(From the Yakima Herald-Republic) Yakima, WA – June 22, 2019 –  Perry Technical Institute has students do “externships,” another word for work practice for credit. Across its 13 programs, the institute has hundreds of business partners across the state and globe taking on student externs, said Jason Lamiquiz, associate dean of education. At least 100 are Yakima Valley businesses.

The majority of those work experiences are paid, and they often lead to additional hours of work outside of the structured hours set by the institute, he said.
