Austin Abbott doesn’t have to be asked – he’s always willing and able to tutor his classmates. Abbott’s instructors at Perry Technical Institute singled him out for his performance, leadership and initiative by selecting him as the school’s February Student of the Month.
“Austin is a highly motivated student with a drive and a curiosity. He will surely be successful in the electrical field,” said Michael Yusi, head of Perry’s Electrical Technology Program, in nominating him for the award.
Abbott was born in Syracuse, New York, and grew up in Skaneateles Falls, New York, and Vancouver, British Columbia. An interest in the electrical trade led him to Perry Tech.
Abbott, who will graduate in June, is looking forward to going to work in the field and perhaps someday continuing his education to become an electrical engineer.
