Job Description:
KASO Plastics, a top northwest plastics injection molder is looking for a Toolroom Machinist to develop new production jigs and fixtures, perform mold maintenance and repairs, and other general machining tasks as required within our manufacturing facility.

JOB SUMMARY
The Tool Room Machinist is responsible for the repair and maintenance of production tooling and fixtures. The Toolroom Machinist also works with KASO engineers to assist in design and manufacturing of fixtures, jigs, and gauges. Success in this position requires a great attention to detail and ability to self-manage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Building jigs and fixtures for the injection mold manufacturing processes
• Manufacture gauges as required for inspection
• Repair of injection mold tooling
• All general mold and fixture maintenance
• New mold inspections
• Supporting Production, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Control, and Tooling Engineering

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
• Act as support for all needs of the production department
• Keeping work area and tool racks clean, organized, and safe
• Assist in building and other facilities projects
• Misc. duties assigned by Tool Room Supervisor
• Forklift Operation as required

ESSENTIAL TRAINING/SPECIAL SKILLS:
• Ability to use all shop machinery
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Strong technical or other process related background
• Familiarity with engineering terminology and concepts
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods and machine types
• Ability to work under pressure
• PC Skills including MS Office and Email

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 2 years working in a manufacturing environment
• Toolroom machining, or general machining background required

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
• H.S. diploma
• Completion of apprenticeship program or trade school certificate in machining preferred
