FTE: 1.0, Shift: Days, Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday

Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred

Position Summary
Responsible for scheduling and pre-registering patients for exams and procedures. Communicates all relevant information and instructions to patient. Assists with the rooming process related to patient check-in. Works collaboratively with providers and clinic staff to support patient care, assuming responsibility for clinical and administrative tools to create operational efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinates and schedules services for patients and providers. Maintains providers’ daily schedules and communicates changes to appropriate staff members and patients. Coordinates pre-authorizations, requests, and referrals as needed. Updates patient insurance information. Manages filing and release/receipt of medical records.
2. Acts as primary contact for patients. Answers telephones and schedules patient appointments with providers. Reminds patients of upcoming appointments. Schedules new or follow up appointments. Explains logistics related to appointments (e.g., appointment time, parking). Keeps patients informed of delays. Routes phone calls per urgent/emergent guidelines. Performs telephone and in-person screening. Informs patients of test results per protocol.
3. Manages office supplies, coordinates durable medical equipment delivery/return, maintains stock & patient education materials, and sorts mail and other communications as needed.
4. Facilitates patient flow & rooming.
5. Cleans & organizes exam rooms, and disposes of bio-hazardous materials using standard precautions.
6. In compliance with the scope of practice for the individual staff’s licensure, the following duties may apply:
a. Obtains last visit notes and/or lab results.
b. Prepares patients for exams, treatments, procedures by obtaining vital signs which may include: temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height (no MA-R/MA-C Required), and weight measurements (no MA-R/MA-C Required). Provides general patient instructions relevant to the encounter (i.e. instructs patient in urine specimen collection).
c. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: Customer service experience required. Medical office administration experience or equivalent training program preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Knowledge of insurance verification preferred.

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $17.68 - $24.76 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
