Hourly rates for hired candidates with quality technical skills could exceed $25/hour (depending on experience), plus overtime and an attractive benefits package. A hiring opportunity exists for a highly-skilled industrial electrician at a sawmill in Northeastern North Carolina. The position will work with a team providing quality operational repairs and preventative maintenance services. The successful candidate will have experience with motors, generators, pumps, heavy-duty machines, illumination systems, and associated electrical and electronic controls. The candidate will perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, run conduit and wire/rewire systems, provide PLC programming support, and read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand, maintain, and troubleshoot AC/DC motors, generators, and associated machine controls. An ability to diagnose and repair issues with motors, controllers, and PLCs, along with an ability to utilize knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for improvement and savings, is desired. Strong problem-solving skills, a commitment to safety, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently are strongly desired for this position. A journeyman industrial electrician certification is required for this role, and previous experience in a sawmill or other heavy industry is desired. Relocation assistance is also available.
