MEDICAL BILLING OFFICE POSITION:
We are seeking an Insurance/ A/R Follow-up specialist -- We have no direct contact with patients, we are a billing office only.
Our billing software is a highly automated system that identifies and pushes to staff the accounts needing work. Job duties will include:
Reviewing Claims Clearinghouse denials daily, making accurate corrections as needed for reprocessing and payment.
Reviewing denied claims, making accurate corrections as needed for reprocessing and payment.
Reviewing demographic information and payer information as needed to make corrections.
Reviewing automated insurance responses for eligibility to update and file as needed.
Answer incoming calls from patients/payers, reviewing information and making corrections as instructed or identified, setting up budget payment plans and/or processing credit card payments as needed (we do have an online payment portal as well).
Question any areas of uncertainty.
Manage incoming correspondence as assigned in a timely, accurate manner (may include: Attorney requests, payer contact, refund/recoupment requests, etc.
Have an understanding of insurance plans and experience in navigating payer websites.
Handle confidential information and abide by HIPAA laws and other medical policies.
Maintain professional communication and working relationships in all contacts.
Be a flexible highly motivated team player.
Additional job duties based on department need, skill level, and employee interest.
Knowledge and Experience:
TWO (2) YEARS OF MEDICAL INSURANCE FOLLOW-UP EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
ICD10 and CPT familiarity a plus.
Medical Terminology a plus.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
