ABOUT WALLA WALLA FOUNDRY
Walla Walla Foundry is one of the largest fine art fabricators in the world. Originally founded in 1980 as a bronze casting foundry, it now employs over 100 people and produces work in a range of materials and through multiple processes. It houses an advanced technological infrastructure encompassing a digital design and modeling department, three high resolution five axis CNC machines, Printing, 3D scanning, and high precision water jet cutting services. ABOUT THE JOB

Walla Walla Foundry is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Industrial Mechanic to join the Foundry maintenance team. The mechanic will perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions on a variety of machinery and equipment. Hours are 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday, with some overtime required.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general direction from the Facilities Manager and Industrial MillWright-Mechanic:

Perform preventative maintenance on gas, diesel, and propane powered equipment such as vehicles, forklifts and manlifts, backhoes, skid steers.
Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment
Perform preventive maintenance on troubleshoot low and high voltage ac/dc systems
Work and collaborate with team members and department employees to perform corrective and preventative maintenance effectively
Operate computer and tablet to communicate through email, maintenance management system, and reference equipment documentation in the field
Follow all safety policies and procedures; performs all duties while following required safety protocols such as LOTO, Confined Space Entry, fall protection, etc. (all necessary training provided)
Operate forklifts and other industrial equipment (training provided)
Will work in high-heat environments as needed
May drive Foundry vehicle(s) to service multiple Foundry locations. Occasional travel may be required
May be required to perform other general maintenance or carpentry related jobs as needed. Performs other duties assigned
Requirements
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES

High School Diploma or GED required. AA or advanced training in automotive technology or related field highly desired
Minimum three years’ experience in industrial, manufacturing or mechanic shop
A valid driver’s license and a good driving record required (for insurance purposes) to drive Foundry vehicles. CDL is a plus
Willingness to learn, ask questions and grow skills
Team player, with strong communication skills
Must be comfortable learning new technology and using mobile devices/apps. Able to read work orders and record work accomplished; able to read and respond to emails
Ability to climb tall, portable and stationary ladders to access equipment and maintenance platforms; must be able to perform work think critically while at heights
Ability to find, understand and apply any technical information from computers, manuals, or other guides
Ability to communicate and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to safety policies, SDS sheets, work, and maintenance schedules
Ability to become certified to operate Fork Truck and other Foundry equipment (Foundry will train) required. Prior experience driving mobile equipment including fork trucks, manlifts, hoists or other machinery a plus
Must be reliable, with strong time-management skills and approach work efficiently
Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Must be trustworthy
WAGE AND BENEFITS
Walla Walla Foundry is a stable company and offers competitive pay and a generous benefits package, which includes health/dental/vision (health insurance paid 100% by the Foundry for employee, 50% for dependents), 401(k) Plan with employer retirement match, Long-Term Disability Plan, paid holidays, and paid time off. Starting wage is $22.40-33.59, DOE.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical demands include the ability to stand, bend and twist over long periods of time, and engage in repetitive motions of feet, arms, and hands. Ability to operate foot controls and to grasp/pinch with hand(s) is frequent. Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to kneel, bend and work in small spaces. Must have the ability to push/pull, lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.



Environmental conditions can be loud, dusty and/or smoky. Temperatures can swing with the weather from very cold to very hot. PPE required and worn daily including gloves, safety glasses/goggles/shields, face masks (N-95), work boots.
