We are looking for an Instrumentation & Controls Technician to join our Maintenance department with our team. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in instrumentation & controls maintenance for all plant production and processing equipment to meet established production requirements. The candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of all manufacturing equipment and must also maintain average proficiency in other skill areas so that one may assist in projects and other maintenance work as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Installation, testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment in a food processing plant.
• Must be able to perform the duties of an industrial maintenance mechanic, which include troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair as needed on food processing equipment.
• Certification in electrical and or instrumentation and process control is required.
• Should have PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
Electrical
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams (both construction and schematic
• Install conduit, wiring, control panels, and control centers
• Install, repair, and service automatic control devices such as photo-electric equipment, proximity switches, etc
• Install and repair power and control wiring
• Effectively troubleshoot and repair complex circuitry
• Perform all phases of preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and controls
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot plant communication equipment (excluding outside telephone system, fax, etc.)
Electronic
• Read and interpret electronic schematics
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuitry
• Install, effectively troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment such as ground fault systems and recorders/controllers
• Understand PLC ladder logic
• Program, troubleshoot, and repair Programmable Logic Controllers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
• Demonstrated ability to safely work on and around complex, highly automated machinery in a non-temperature regulated environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, verbal, and written communication skills to present to other maintenance supervisors, technicians, and operators effectively.
• Cross-functional demonstrated skills in Electrical, PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, motion control, and mechanical systems.
• Regular use of hands to feel or handle and regular reaching with hands and arms
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and kneeling
• Occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
• Experience in food manufacturing desired.
• Proactive and able to work independently.
• Able to work all shifts in a 24x7 operation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Certification in electrical and or instrumentation and process control is required.
• Trade school may be substituted for work experience on a year-to-year basis up to a maximum of 2 years.
• Minimum of five years related applicable experience with machine maintenance and repair.
• Applicant must pass our standard testing in maintenance and electrical.
• Experience in food manufacturing preferred.

Compensation range: $28.00-35.75 per hour (individual wage based on previous experience, knowledge, and skills)
