Job Description:
This is a part-time, year-round teaching appointment in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology Department. This position will report to the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology Department Head.
Under the direction of the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology Department Head, the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology Lab Coordinator is responsible for inventory levels, materials/consumables acquisition and lab setup.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are performed in a classroom and lab environment. Working effectively and collaboratively in a team environment is a must.
This is a non-exempt, part-time limited position with an average of 15 hours per week. Overtime may be required as necessary.
Although most technicians work indoors, some may have to work on outdoor heat exchangers, even in bad weather. Technicians often work in awkward or cramped spaces, and some work in buildings that are uncomfortable because the air conditioning or heating system is not working properly.

WAGE RANGE: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Practical work experience working in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology industry or a certificate of completion from an accredited post-secondary Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology program.
Ability to communicate effectively and to interface with students and staff in a professional, approachable manner.
Ability to operate a computer.
Will on occasion be required to drive on behalf of Perry Technical Institute. Employee must possess a working vehicle, hold a valid driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and produce proof of insurance.
Must be willing to consent to a drug test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three (3) years of related practical work experience working in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology industry or a certificate of completion from an accredited post-secondary Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Troubleshoot problems in the lab environment.
Assist instructor with lab and demonstration setup.
Have good attendance and the ability to work well with others.
Any additional tasks as directed by the Department Head.
