Electrical Technician 1 (Crew A)

Summary
The Electrical Technician works independently troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and ensures all equipment is in safe working condition within the packaging and processing areas of a vegetable processing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains all electrical systems from low voltages to 4160 volt
Repairs or replaces all electrical devices including but not limited to: breaker panels, motor starters, heaters, fuses, lights, AC drives, motors, electrical switches, etc., all in accordance with state and federal codes including company policies and procedures
Maintains and troubleshoots VFDs, soft starts, lighting and control circuits
Must be able to install plant equipment, run conduits, pull wire, install switches, breaker panels, etc. as needed to supply power to plant electrical apparatus
Works with electrical meters such as amp clamps, volt meters, analog meters, meggers, etc.
Must be able to assist all other maintenance personnel in the event of a major plant break down
Assists the Instrumentation/PLC Technician
Performs other duties as assigned
Typical Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Relevant Experience
2+ years related experience and/or training
Other Information
Good knowledge of computer systems
Must be familiar with automated control systems and be able to read, understand and maintain electrical drawings and manuals
2+ years experience in a processing environment
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to read and write in English
Ability to work any shift, weekend and overtime if required
Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible and work well under pressure
Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment
