Job Description:
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or G.E.D.
· A valid Washington State Drivers License.
· Completion of a two-year certified course in electronics, computer maintenance, telecommunications or two years in field work experience.
· Posses the ability to communicate and maintain strong working relationships with staff and the general public.
· Proven ability to work independently required.
· Physical ability to perform required duties.
· Record of dependability, flexibility, and strong attendance.
· Desire to be a role model for students and to interact positively with students.
· Maintain confidentiality.
Primary Function: Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair computer hardware, system software, hardware peripherals, and related network connections, telecommunications systems, equipment, and associated hardware, pathway systems, and cable management systems.
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Setup and maintain computer hardware and peripherals
a. Setup workstations and peripherals. Perform routine computer and peripheral maintenance. Troubleshoot and resolve workstation setup and network connectivity issues. Perform basic upgrades to computers.
b. Install software and drivers and configure for use. Configure, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with YSD supported software. Enter pertinent information into various databases and systems.
2. District Network Servers
a. Configure and troubleshoot basic client/server connections.
b. Perform data entry tasks as assigned by supervisor.
c. Assist supervisor or technicians, as needed, with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, management, and/or maintenance of district servers.
3. District WAN and LAN Networks and Network hardware
a. Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain WAN and LAN connections and end devices
b. Assist supervisor or technicians, as needed, with installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of network hardware and wiring.
c. Install duct, raceway, non-metallic conduit.
4. Assist with Help Desk technical support
a. Answer telephones and log incidences into the Help Desk ticket system.
b. Assist users with basic issues.
5. Miscellaneous Duties
a. Perform standard Tech Services communications and record-keeping tasks using email, work orders, phone calls and/or written materials.
b. Create standard Tech Services support materials including instructions, operating procedures, materials for CDs, disks, webpages, or other media. Duplicate CDs, disks and other related media.
c. Maintain service manuals and other information as needed for district network and computer-related equipment.
d. Carryout parts swap with computer companies in strict accordance with computer company policies. Prepare packages of components for shipping; contact shipping agencies for pickup.
f. Initiate, monitor and file paperwork associated with maintenance and parts ordering including purchase orders, materials and labor estimates, job cost forms, etc.
g. Perform other duties as assigned.

· Employment is contingent upon passing the Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check.
· Must maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
· Complete SafeSchool’s online training in accordance with the Yakima School District.
· Obtain a CPR and First Aid Card if needed.
· Attend job specific trainings as required.

Base Pay: $24.97 - $30.86 per hour
