Job Description
The Telecom & Infrastructure Technician is responsible for telephone equipment, installing voice and data communication hardware and software as well as structured cabling. Provides timely and knowledgeable support for all telephone and fax systems including associated applications, hardware, and infrastructure. Working with IT Network Administrator, this position is a member of the IT Infrastructure Team and will be responsible for implementing, supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting the various enterprise phone technologies and structured copper, fiber infrastructure including installation, scheduling, and performing updates and upgrades on all infrastructure and documentation to reflect changes including as built documentation.
Qualifications
What is required...
Associate degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience
At least one year of related IT/Telecommunication experience
What is preferred...
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field
Experience in a Healthcare environment
5+ years working with VoIP and Centrex Phone systems and knowledge of other TCP/IP Network Devices.
3+ Experience working with SIP, ISDN, T1, PRI and other digital telecommunication carrier standards.
Knowledge of UCaaS and experience maintaining on premise self-hosted telephone systems.
Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC Standards
Experience in installing, labeling, documenting data cabling in network closets
Additional Information
Wage: Wage range currently starts at $27.28/hour and goes up to $41.35/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience.
FTE: 1.0 = 40 hours/week
