Summary:
This job posting is for the full-time position of Maintenance Support Specialist with ASAP Metal Fabricators, a sheet-metal manufacturing job shop in Yakima, WA.

This position will be responsible for the maintenance of industrial machinery and facilities within our job-shop manufacturing environment. They will be a stellar problem solver who is comfortable with repairing all manner of metal fabrication equipment. They should be excited to respond to line calls, diagnose and solve problems in a job shop manufacturing environment. They will be expected to implement preventative maintenance practices and equipment improvements to help prevent issues from recurring. Training and assistance will be provided as needed.

Typical Responsibilities
Respond to line calls and immediate issues with manufacturing equipment.
Diagnose faults and issues with industrial machinery, facilities, vehicles.
Apply problem-solving and mechanical skills to repair and resolve issues quickly, with limited support or oversight.
Drive a company vehicle to pick up parts and materials for repairs
Work with the team to replace any short-term fixes with long-term solutions, such as implementing preventative maintenance tasks to eliminate or reduce recurring issues.
Work with Shop Manager to schedule and complete preventative maintenance tasks
Work on continuous improvement projects during downtime, such as upgrading or replacing existing equipment, fabricating material racks, painting of facilities, etc.
Maintain a safe work environment, enforce lock-out tag-out (LOTO), and escalate safety issues and risks to leadership
Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas and tools.
Assist other departments as needed.
Operate forklifts and cranes to move materials and equipment as needed.
Drive company trucks to deliver equipment or materials as needed.
Follow company rules, policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement projects.
Know when to escalate an issue and seek assistance.

Preferred Qualifications
Technical understanding, zeal, and ability to deal with uncertainty
Experience with Equipment Maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Mechanical repairs
Experience with Electrical repairs
Experience with Hydraulics repairs
Familiarity with Preventative Maintenance practices
Excellent problem-solving skills
Good understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes
Metal fabrication experience, welding experience, or machining experience is a plus
Ability to operate a forklift
Flexible and responsive, with a strong teamwork orientation
Good verbal and written communication skills
Desire to learn new skills and improve knowledge
Ability to work flexible hours or overtime as needed

Preferred Experience
3+ years demonstrated technical skills such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and machine operations
The business operates on a standard 40-hour workweek. Overtime may occasionally be required. Standard hours of operation are:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
