Laboratory Services Cooperative (LSC) is an independent lab providing clinical testing to Planned Parenthood affiliates. LSC receives lab orders electronically from clinic’s EMR systems. Once the specimen collected is received the lab processes the ordered test(s).

About this position:
Under the general supervision of the Revenue Cycle or Patient Financial Services Supervisor, Manager or LSC Revenue Cycle Director, accurately bills third party payers and provides outstanding customer service to patients, health center staff and other customers.

After initial training in Bellevue, this will be a full time remote position.

The hourly range for this position is $19.01 - $25.83.

What you’ll be doing:
·Accurately bill third party payers to receive maximum reimbursement by following all department procedures and processes.
·Check proof of eligibility in accordance with agency and third-party protocols.
·Provide information by responding to inquiries from patients, health center staff, and insurance companies in accordance with the affiliate customer service standards.
·Ensure bills are processed in a timely fashion by running reports and correcting electronic bill submissions.
·Follow-up on all incorrect, denied, and unpaid medical claims and reconciles third party accounting information.
·Prepare audit reports by running, collecting, and summarizing information to verify accuracy of claims prior to submittal.
·Post third party payments to accounts, as well as insurance contractual allowances. Transfers balances to patient responsibility as appropriate. Requests authorization from the

supervisor to write-off balances.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
None required.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
Minimum of one to two years of medical insurance billing experience. Knowledge of medical insurance companies guidelines and their billing procedures. Basic knowledge of coordination of payments and diagnosis codes required.
Proficient in medical billing software, preferably laboratory billing software, XIFIN. Computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
