How You'll Perform the Role
POSITION PURPOSE
Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade equipment, machinery, and processes. Maintain accurate records involving installation, maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
FUNCTIONS:
Under the direct supervision of the maintenance supervisor the fabricator will make mechanical repairs on all equipment; to include, but not limited to, gear boxes, bearings, lubricants, valves, filters, regulators, pumps, fluid storage devices, calculations pertaining to fluid power, single and three phase power. Must be able to work with sprockets, chains, variable speed belts, and gears. Will be required to perform, various test instruments for voltage, amperage, resistance and continuity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and parts manuals to assure that correct parts are used.
Must be able to use various shop machines: Arc welder, Mig welder, Tig welder, cutting torch, saws, presses, grinders, etc.
Must be able to fabricate parts and equipment from stock.
Use ladders, as needed, to access machinery.
Reach, crawl, kneel, etc., and move various components of the machinery and facility to effect repairs and general maintenance.
Move raw materials, finished product, supplies, etc., with or without assistance.
Requires operation of forklift and Company motor vehicles as needed.
Company policies, procedures, and practices are implemented via this position. Quality of products is directly related to the effectiveness of individuals in this job. A broad base of current technical knowledge is required to ensure that standards are met and efficiencies are maintained. Problem solving and decision making abilities are essential for success.
What We Need From You
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: HS Diploma or GED equivalency preferred
Required Knowledge/experience: Fabrication and Mechanic experience required in a Manufacturing environment
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to prioritize projects.
Excellent organizational skills
Good communication skills
Must have good attendance
Must have the ability to lift 50lbs from ground to shoulder occasionally, and frequently lifting up to 40lbs.
Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation
