The Engineering Area Planner I is a union position with hourly pay starting at 40.50 per hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As an Engineering Area Planner I you would perform engineering drafting, design, and work coordination with customers while applying District Standards, Customer Service Policies and Construction Practices, under the general supervision of the Customer Engineering Manager.

Experience, Working Conditions and Other Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a two (2) year technical degree in electrical technology from an accredited college or a certificate in electrical technology from a vocational/technical school or equivalent combination of educational coursework and experience.
Completing a qualified sanctioned electrical apprenticeship program will meet the educational requirement for this position.
Preferred recent two years of experience in utility customer engineering and/or power line design; or equivalent combination of educational coursework and experience.
Must adhere to the District’s residency requirements for response workers.

Previous experience in electric utility
Work Environment:
The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Work is performed in the office or in the field Monday through Thursday 6:30AM to 5:00PM. Remote work is not available for this position.
Performs work in compliance with the District Union Contract Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Work may be performed in the field with need to wear proper personal protection equipment (PPE) and work in all weather conditions.
