Job Overview
Under Direction of the HVAC Lead, the HVAC Technician performs repair, overhaul, maintenance, installation and servicing of commercial, industrial, and residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The incumbent operates, maintains, tests, inspects, troubleshoots and repairs digital control systems. This Technician will need the skills to efficiently perform the duties in accordance with local, state and federal codes and guidelines. The HVAC Technician must be able to work independently, recognize potential hazards, take measures to avoid risks, and minimize any impact to the customer. The incumbent will apprise their Supervisor of unique situations and problems encountered.
This position has a competitive wage of $37.40 per hour along with excellent Medical, Dental, Vision, Union Pension, Life Insurance, 11 paid holidays, and PTO starting a 10 hours per month.
There is a contract year clothing allowance for protective clothing and/or ANSI compliant safety shoes.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Repairs, overhauls, maintain, installs and services HVAC equipment and control systems.
Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, motors, etc.
Understanding of supervisory control systems
Available to stand rotating duty to respond to emergency situations after hours, holidays and weekends for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Performs other duties, in and out of Trade, as assigned
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
Three (3) years verifiable experience as a commercial HVAC technician or at the journeyman level.
Refrigeration transition and recovery technician certification, Type III (Universal).
Communicate, both orally and in writing, in the English language.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire background check, drug screen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
US Citizenship.
