The Maintenance team is a diverse group of people with various skills including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc. Team members have the opportunity to work on projects both individually and as a team, striving to have a culture of collaboration, communication, and partnership with all members of the campus community

In this role you will be responsible for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment (HVAC) systems and will perform diagnostic testing, repair, and maintenance of HVAC and steam distribution systems.

The HVAC Technician position is classified as a Maintenance Mechanic 4 by the State of Washington. The typical scheduled work hours will be between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week. The HVAC Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
Mechanical and HVAC Equipment:

Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment such as:
Chillers (Cooling Units)
Roof top Units (RTU)
Air Handler Units (AHU)
Heat Pumps
Terminal Units (TU)
Variable Air Volume Box (VAV)
Actuators
Circulation Pumps
Condensation Pumps
Preventive Maintenance:
Check, analyze and maintain high performance of equipment
Perform regular diagnostic and maintenance tasks such as:
Change filters and belts
Maintain filter and belt inventory
Clean coils
Check oil and filters
HVAC Controls and Buildings:
Review scheduling and plan accordingly with meetings and/or campus events
Set building temperatures
Set room temperatures

To be successful in this role you will need:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of residential or commercial HVAC experience
A valid driver's License

Preferred qualifications:
EPA Universal Certification (Environmental Protection Agency)
Three (3) years Journeyman HVAC experience
Prior experience working in a higher education environment
HVAC Controls systems experience
VFD experience
AA degree or completion of a formal HVAC school
